Low Fell West

I dragged Mr P out to visit a local garden having an open day in the National Garden Scheme . Not really his thing but he was inspired by the rainbow chard in the veg garden. I was inspired by a crab apple-(extra). The garden was in 2 acres on the side of a rocky hillside. Rescued from brambles, bracken and generally impenetrable undergrowth by the current owners  starting in 2003 when the previous owners admitted it had got too much for them.  It was a great Lake District garden and shows what you can do with rocky outcrops and general dampness all over the place, This is the view from the highest rocky outcrop that the couple declared, when they first uncovered it, had "a stonking view". If you view the location on the map in satellite view you can see they have created a garden in the rough woodland fell. Definitely not easy maintenance.
