Diwali Celebration

in Irvine, CA. I took some photos for my Indian friend of years who lives in Austin. Diwali is also known as “the Festival of Lights,” and marks the victory of light over darkness, and of good over evil.
Particularly women were wearing their most beautiful attires. The way the women are interacting on this photo, reminds me a little of the extraordinary painting “Visitation” by the Italian painter Pontormo.
