''JUST A BUG''

....."NANNA - I'VE FOUND THIS BIG BUG" - our little 7 year-old grand -daughter came racing inside with great concern..bug in hand..
"Well, it is rather large and I'm not sure what it is, (Papa didn't know either), but it's rather dead anyway so it won't hurt you".
With the heat of our summer being well in the 40s and possibly 42 again tomorrow, a lot of creatures have passed on. And ofcourse most only have a short life-span anyway.
At our main shopping centre yesterday we took the children to see a display of snakes and bugs, and there was one on display for the children to see. Papa asked what it was and the person running the show said: "I wouldn't have a clue". And so, we don't have a clue still. The children had great fun there having a snake of some kind wrapped around their shoulders for a photo (for sale) but - isn't it good to see children these days so interested in bugs and the feel of a snake around their shoulders!! We had one in the neighbour's back yard today - a dangerous brown, large, from the screams emitting from across the fence - so I sure hope it doesn't decide to get through any gap it can find into our back yard, after the shoulder wrapping of the harmless snake yesterday!!! We do believe a snake catcher was called judging by all the noise and gear being shifted. We're used to snakes but the children aren't...having come from inner city in Queensland..
IF - we see it - I'll photograph it for you..
