Magnolia's Secret

Found this seed pod on the magnolia tree in the garden of the other house complete with still one fruit/berry/seed in the pod. I could of course try to make it germinate (requires rotting the fruit, scraping the seed, submerging it in water for a week and afterwards keeping it in soil in a plastic bag in the fridge over winter). It is after all a seed from the tree the late parents-in-law planted more than 50 years ago ...

For Tiny Tuesday with thanks to Barking for hosting this month.

Thanks very much for the kind comments and stars for yesterday's mono feather Blip
