Balloch

Today we were travelling from Rugby to Balloch by train. It was an eventful journey. It started by an announcement that the train was not operating properly and we needed to change trains at the next stop. This was done and just as it got ready to go an elderly lady behind us said she should have got off. In fact she knew she had to get off as they had all been told but she was waiting for someone to help her off. In all the confusion they had forgotten her and she was heading back in the wrong direction. We found some staff and after apologies and help to get off at the next stop she was told she would be upgraded to first class and even arrive in Euston before her original time. That all well we thought. But a little later we were informed a train had broken down ahead of us but was almost cleared. We ended up being two hours late as we ended up behind the broken down train as it was being towed away.

Anyway another train and we arrived in Balloch where we scampered along the edge of the loch just as it began to get dark. It looks an interesting place to explore.
