Pride of Hull

Finally we left home today for our short autumn trip.
Not to Barcelona, but enough about that. We're going to the UK instead, and we're all looking forward to that.

We left home around 13.00 hours and arrived at Europoort (near Rotterdam) around 16.30 hours. The final part we had some heavy traffic and near traffic jams. But we made it well on time.
The (free!) carpark was very close to the terminal and our ship was already waiting for us.

We checked in and then went through customs. It felt as if Brexit has already been delivered...we were thoroughly checked. The walk-through-EU-resident gates have all been removed already.

We were welcomed aboard and we soon found our cabins. Bas and Daan had their own and Annemarie and I also of course. We were neighbours. No. 8131 and 8132 were ours, deck 8.

We then went for a sight seeing through the ship and enjoyed a Starbucks-cappucino and hot chocolate for the boys.

After that dinner was served (also deck 8) and soon after we finished that the ship sailed. (by then it was 20.30 hours) We went outside on the sun deck (Deck 12) to enjoy the views passing by. The weather was great and it really felt like holiday. Great fun and atmosphere.

Back inside the boys discovered a huge TV-screen with Ziggo sports on.
The football match Manchester City vs Atalanta had just begun.
We let them watch the whole match while we enjoyed some live music on board. When football was over we went back to our cabins. During the night we will be crossing the North Sea on our way to Hull.

Tomorrow a visit to York is on the agenda!
