Onions from Brittany

Delighted to see Pascal, one of the genuine ‘Onion Johnnies’ from Brittany back at Romsey market today. It means the French onions are back In season and we use a lot of the in the kitchen - somehow the flavour is altogether different from the supermarket onions we have had to make do with over the summer months.
So it was great to see Pascal’s stall back in the Market Place carrying on the tradition started way back in 1828 by Breton farmers. And Pascal Creach is a man who knows his onions having been selling the pink onions of Roscoff in England for many years - a tradition started by his family over a century ago.
