Bob!

Went up for a couple of hours of toil at the soil-interface - still huge amounts of stuff to be cleared, but did get halfway along one bed and sowed a dozen or so broad beans. Always a good feeling to get something going for the next year...

The little blighters are still a bit cautious about the new feeder; think it may have reduced sightlines whilst one is actually pecking. Hung it under the bay tree so that the sparrowhawk might be slightly delayed in its downward plunge. But I was very pleased to be visited by Bob; first time I'd seen him for ages. He posed beautifully on one of the compost bins, but I thought I'd go with this photo where he and a blue tit have fortunately chosen a separate fatcake each (so no unseemly squabbling).
