The Matukituki Valley

The Boss and ME went up here this morning. It was not a gentle breeze as the entire contents of the Matukituki river appeared in the air at times, the car shook, was pelted with flying grit and I was worried that he would not return after leaving the car for a better composition and nearly having the door torn off.  There were large bits of tree on the road BUT the photography was truly fab. Todays extra is a pond that usually has Black Swans gently honking their way on a surface of glass....Swan Lake it wasn’t. The river was that cloud of dust behind.
When we got back he read the extreme weather warning for the day...Maybe he should have read it first as I got seriously wet when we decided to stagger to Damper Bay for a side trip and the wind decided to get wet as we were returning (10 km) There is a large black rug in our entry hall. It doubles as a wonderful dog towel.
