Getting the sparkle back

Black headed gull

At Blackford Pond. I wanted to check on the cygnets and there were only six of them, so I expect/hope that the other two have now left the pond and gone to join a flock of non-breeding swans, maybe at St Margaret's Loch, Duddingston Loch or the Esk at Musselburgh.

There were lots of other black headed gulls, some mallards with the males looking splendid in their breeding plumage, some tufted ducks, a couple of moorhens and a teal, which was the surprise today. I took loads of photos of it but didn't like any of them.
