Glenwhan Gardens

Today's the day ……………………… for a watercolour

We were up bright and early this morning - in anticipation of that  rugby match.  By the end of it, we were in need of something to take our minds off the result.

So, a packed lunch was made and we took ourselves off to the Glenwhan Gardens & Arboretum at Dunragit.  Mr and Mrs Knottman2 had visited them earlier in the year and had highly recommended them.  And even although we knew that the tearoom etc would not be open at this time of the year, we felt sure they would be a lovely place to spend time.

And so it proved to be.  We had them pretty much all to ourselves.  Will sat on one of the many seats and absorbed himself in a watercolour painting - and I wandered off in the sunshine to explore the gardens and woodland.  The extra is the view across the lake to where Will was painting (if you want to see the result look here).

And, by the way, that diving board would have been perfect for one of Mrs Penally's swims ………………………..!
