Daubenton’s Bat

I went for a walk down the Water of Leith on a slightly dull day and was amazed to see a bat hunting over the Water of Leith at the Dean Village. I tried to get a decent shot but it was so dark that I couldn’t get a fast enough shutter speed to stop it being blurred. It was only after it stopped hunting and flew off to roost that it went in front of some blue sky that I managed to get a reasonable blip. I got home and did some googling and decided that it was probably a Daubenton’s Bat as they are sometimes seen in the day.

Yesterday’s blip.
