Small Family.

One of the hens disappeared last month and I suspected she was laying away from home but couldn't find her nest until two days ago when my neighbour  mowed the long grass on their side of the fence  and revealed the sitting hen. She wasn't frightened off and appeared in the paddock yesterday with two fluffy little chickens.  I had a look at the nest and she had laid a stack of nineteen eggs!  It's quite amazing any hatched as she is a little hen and wouldn't have been able to turn so many eggs and keep them all warm.
