Auld Claes an Parritch

Back ‘til auld claes an parritch’ after being cosseted and looked after for two days at Stobo Castle. Still, it is nice to be home with a familiar routine even if at times it can seem a tad too familiar.

The change in hour hasn’t impacted too much although it did seem overly dark this morning when I had expected it to be much lighter. The daylong sunshine was a welcome raiser of the temperature and the continuing blue skies a bonus.

Washing was attended to and some food shopping bought despite having felt yesterday that I would never need to eat again.
My weaving from daughter #2 was successfully hung with a minimum number of holes in the wall before getting it right.

Daughter #1 and her partner had a lucky escape last night on their drive north from Edinburgh to Moray when a man drove at 40mph into the back of their car and shunted it forward into the pickup in front of them while they were stationary in a queue of traffic at roadworks north of Dundee. While the car is a write off, they miraculously escaped injury. Because of the roadworks closing the dual carriage way to just one lane each way, the police didn’t reach them for 40minutes. It doesn’t bear thinking about what might have happened if anyone had needed an ambulance.

I’m trying not to be ageist, but I’m told the offending driver was not young. There needs to be a driving test for much older people because reactions get much slower with age.
