History in the Square Mile.

Two interesting signs here:

The bottom one refers to a city stockbroking firm which, according to the London Gazette, 10th April 1923, was dissolved (see extra)

The top sign refers to what was once, back in 1260, an Augustine friary in (what is now), the hear of the City. In later years, it was home to Thomas Cromwell, 'friend' of Henry VIII.
