Ready for Halloween

Neep - a Scottish name for a turnip
And sometimes we use the phrase “He’s a neep head” meaning he’s a bit of a fool.
When I was much younger, before the invention of pumpkins, we used to make lanterns from turnips. It was much harder to hollow them out than pumpkins but I rather liked the smell of burning turnips when you put the candle inside the neep.
Can’t help feeling it reminds me of a certain politician!
