Emergency Services EB

Stopped to help at an RTA today, first person on scene.
As a cfr we don't normally get sent to them, though we do cover trauma, but as a human being with first aid skills

But;
The accident took place right at the junction of a motorway slip road. I was there for perhaps an hour and made some observations:
I saw the immediate aftermath and stopped - out of the next 20-30 cars to pass only one other person did.
The accident partially blocked the junction - amazing how many people honked their horns, mounted the virge (putting us at risk) to get past, made rude hand gestures....
The emergency services were, as ever, amazing.
People don't notice stuff - myself included. It was only after a good while of dealing with the main Casualty (à driver) that I spotted the elderly gentleman on the verge, he'd been a passenger and walked away without a graze.
4x4's keep their occupants safe, but destroy whatever they hit.
Modern cars are amazing. Side airbags top and bottom and two in the sides of the drivers seat all deployed. The rear ones so fast that there was virtually no glass in the car from the impact.

With the early nights now it meant this is the only pic I took all day.
