Sayonara Summer

A quick dash to Connecticut today to pick up a chest of drawers from the Bridgewater house to use in the new apartment's bedroom.  It was a really dreary, drippy, gray day, but this Japanese Maple still clung on to its fiery red leaves which helped brighten up the garden no end.

I also discovered the sweetest little bird nest perched on top of a pilaster next to the side door.  It had been lovingly constructed from the Sphagnum Moss lining a planter nearby.  It must have made a lovely, soft nursery!
