Mystery Flowers

Just after breakfast this morning there was an almighty clattering as a long thin cardboard parcel slithered through the letterbox and landed on the mat. We hadn't ordered anything online so were perplexed as to what it could be.

What it was was a bouquet of flowers from some friends of our friends' son, who wanted to thank us for a little favour we had done them and forgotten all about. It was a very kind thought. Not sure what this white flower is but it has the fragrance of a hyacinth even though it doesn't look much like one.

Tess & Kate went to Taunton this morning to do some shopping for Sophie's birthday and Christmas (there, I've used the C word for the first time this year) so Sophie was left to look after me for the morning. One of her favourite books is "How to Babysit a Grandad" so we had to do a number of things that feature in the book. Mummy and Grandma were relieved to get back and find that we had both behaved ourselves, hadn't fallen out and I wasn't tied to the chair with sellotape. We had a fun day, though.

We were rewarded for our good behaviour with tea at Wetherspoon's.
