Good cake

It’s been the type of day where good cake is needed.

N sprung a hernia this morning moving a bag of compost in the garden. We couldn’t get him a GP appointment for 3 weeks so he rang the NHS helpline 111. They immediately sent him down to the local Urgent Care Centre. The doctor sent him down to the Surgical Assessment Unit... he’s on the waiting list for an operation to put it right. Let’s hope it won’t be too long as he’s in a great deal of discomfort and the prescribed painkillers are doing their job.
