Salvage from the Wreckage

Who? La Hoop

Off to Oxford in the van (the Mini awaiting diagnosis of an expensive-looking warning light). Picked up C at the station and off to the Bullingdon for another gig. Jesca Hoop.

We checked with the doorman and the main show started quite early - 8:15. Not much time to get anything to eat. Ended up at the same Cafe we had used when we saw Belle and Sebastian in the Summer. Felt very different! Watched the students in Halloween costumes as we ate filled bagels.

The show was really good. Small venue, great sound. And the band sounded lovely. Three female voices worked really well on the harmonies.

A strange interlude when someone in the crowd was taken Ill . The lights came on and after a bit of a pause JH told a story and then sang a couple of very quiet songs. Once the paramedics had arrived, examined the patient and walked out with him (hopefully Kevin is fine!), the show resumed.
