“Sorry we missed you”

I had a quick walk up the road (today’s photo) before going to see Ken Loach’s new film “Sorry I missed you”.

It’s harrowing, unremitting social realism taken to new heights, or should it be depths.

Centered on the gig economy, it focuses on a van driver and his wife, a carer in the community.

What’s worrying is that you could not point a finger at the “bad guy” for the reasons lie in the structure of our present society. No only is our present political system broken but our whole way of life for vast numbers of people.

We are shown decent people struggling to make a living within our present dysfunctional society.

We shop online and expect parcels to be delivered within days, if not hours, and never think about the cost to the people hired to deliver them.

Probably Ken Loach’s best film ever. Not for the squeamish.
