Poop poop !

Mr. Toad would have loved our town centre today. It’s a stop on the annual London to Brighton veteran car rally, though I still think of it as the old crocks’ race.
If I heard the commentator correctly, this particular car is the oldest roadworthy Rover car, though I could be wrong. No mistake about the red car in extras though, it’s an English Mechanic that would have been constructed by a motorist following instructions in a weekly magazine. No parts supplied, so very different from Mr. Beewatcher’s never-ending model Routemaster bus in umpteen weekly instalments.
The other extra is an unknown old crock near our town statue, which references the origins of its name - supposedly Crow Leigh, a clearing in the forest where crows fly, now reimagined as Crawley.
And the event, always held in November, reminds me again that it truly is autumn

So sad to hear that the driver of one of the cars I might have seen took a wrong turn onto the motorway, and was killed in a collision that badly injured his wife. Poor chap.
