Not every day

Cyclical (but not the Cyclades)

Salina was where Il Postino was partly filmed, although the original story was set in Isla Negra, Chile and the film was inspired by Neruda's exile on Capri. (How big does an island have to be for 'in' to replace 'on'?) A cinema in Salina shows the film every day, and this is the actual bicycle, I believe.

Actually the island has much more of interest. The landscape is beautiful and dramatic, and it is a major source of capers. The extra shows Panarea where the rich go, and even fainter in the distance Stromboli, the only active volcano in the group, where Ingrid Bergman went (and cast a distant spell on Woody Guthrie). There was a plume of smoke, but it's not really visible.

The name of Stromboli, like Lipari, is stressed on the first syllable. I didn't know that, so thought I should pass it on.
