Looking up

Pete and I had to pick some things up from town, so while we were there we had a walk round the Cathedral Precincts, partly to see whether they were suitable for a photographic workshop that I might be leading in the run up to Christmas. I was hoping for lichen and moss covered walls and gravestones, but the abundance and variety of species was rather disappointing, so I may have to re-think what can be done.

Nevertheless, I had a good time admiring and recording the trees planted in the Cathedral Precincts, including unusual species such as Tulip Tree, Gingko and Snakebark Maple. But the mature Beech trees were the most magnificent, best appreciated by looking up!
