Time to leave the nest?

This juvenile magpie (on the right) is bigger than its mother yet still expects to have its meals brought to it. Not so different from some humans ;-)

It's been so hot today, 38C in Brisbane and what timing for a power outage, from 2pm to 5pm (the hottest part of the day).
