Al At 100

When Al came into being
he entered Blipland on the back of a Paul Simon song.
 
‘You can call me Al,’ he said
and wasn’t expecting to linger long.
 
He thought he’d be ignored or laughed out of town
but, instead, he was made welcome.
 
Now Al and his fellow characters,
his creatures, his random shapes, his lines and colours,
his nonsense and his serious moments,
add up 100.

the stars, the hearts, the encouragement.
