Treasures

Book group is on the road again - this time to Dublin. Beautiful blue skies day, although chilly, and we had a smooth trip and dropped our bags at the hotel before walking into the city centre.
We found a tasty fish restaurant and had a lovely lunch before wandering through to Trinity College. It was graduation day - lots of bright red and yellow gowns and happy family groups taking photos...very beautiful buildings and surroundings. We'd got a tour of the long room set up with an ex-colleague of ours who moved here a couple of years ago. Stunning room (see extra) and amazing collection and so good to have L explaining it all to us. Her colleagues had set out a number of treasures for us to see including this letter from Oscar Wilde to his son Cyril.
After we left the library we went to visit JO in the hub next door - another beautiful but modern building 'in conversation' with the long room next door and we had a good tour past all the quietly studious scholars. Popped into the staff bar at Trinity for a drink before heading back to the hotel and I had to give up at that point as my cold is getting worse and I had a bad headache so just went straight to bed. Fabulous day
