Art Gallery

Another wet day. We had been given tickets to the opening weekend of the renovated Art Gallery. The tickets warned us there may be queues, and to be prepared in the case of rain.

There was a short queue, but it was moving quickly and we were in the rain at the entrance for less than a minute. once inside we went around the Gallery and paused for a few minutes to listen to the small orchestra.

The Gallery has been tastefully redecorated and there are changes to the manner in which some of the items are displayed. Possibly there is a little more space. The shop and cafeteria are maybe smaller. The shop is certainly smaller, and has a much reduced range tof articles for sale.

Was it worth the 35 million pounds cost? Maybe not to me, but others no doubt would disagree.
