Blue Rock Thrush

This little bird is extreeeemely rare in the UK and for one to turn up in November in Orkney is quite amazing. It was found on Lamb Holm (which is usually visited only for the Italian Chapel) in a quarry by local man Dawson Shearer. Bitterly cold when we got there, it warmed up and the wind dropped ( a bit) and the bird showed well flying about the cliff in the sun. Distant shots so as not to disturb it.
