Quod oculus meus videt

Frosty Autumn Sunrise

Sitting here a few hours after these images were taken it really doesn't seem possible that the sunrise was so beautiful.  It's now dark, dank and pouring with rain.

A first proper frost, with just the right amount of cloud combined and for about 45 minutes I revelled in the conditions.  It was one of those mornings where choosing just one image was almost impossible.  In the end I enlisted help to choose this image looking across the fields to the sunrise, with the hedge detail in the foreground.

The day was also taken up with completing a revamp of the study, removing a gargantuan L-shaped desk, replacing it with a simple small straight desk.  It has reclaimed so much floor space and will prevent me from creating too much clutter.  I also cooked some leak and potato broth for when L returned from a short ride.
