Dog Lover Mechanic + a Twenty-Mule Team

Our Death Valley tour returned to Las Vegas today, leaving early in the morning. Unfortunately our  bus had mechanical difficulties, and  20 miles from the city we ended up at a mechanic's house, to refill our water system (you see the hose :)  Two dogs came scampering out, including this chubby dachshund.

My mark on the map is approximate.

The extra would have made a fabulous blip yesterday, but I missed it. In Death Valley we experienced the annual celebration of the Twenty-mule Teams that transported the mineral borax out of Death Valley in the 1880s.  Borax is used as a cleaner, and its production was lucrative at the time. The celebratory procession was at least a half-mile long, and it had come a long distance.
