Beautiful afternoon.

Today I started my Christmas cake by putting the fruit into soak. I then collected some soup on my way to the lovely lady and saw the result of the sourdough preparations, a lovely rustic loaf.

After lunch we had a walk south of Winchester along the River Itchen and back. It is a beautiful chalk stream, one of only 210 in the world and we are truly spoilt in England because we have 160 of them.

We met a number of lovely people enjoying the walk and 2 swans quietly feeding as the sun was setting. There were also many giant hogweed seed heads, which I love, in the verges.
