NZ BIRD OF THE YEAR (Yellow-eyed Penguin)

This is a picture of the 'NZ BIRD OF THE YEAR' selected (today) in the main for its rarity and vulnerability.  Each year we have a bird of the year competition which highlights these things. They are only found in Nz waters and breed only on the South Island of NZ.
Also known as the Hoiho (megadyptes antipodes)
