Don’t know anything about this photograph - where it was taken or when only that it’s my grandpa (2nd top left with the moustache) and it’s the Black Watch.

I’m thinking that it was before they were sent over to fight in France as their boots aren't covered in mud and they don’t have a look of being traumatised by fighting in the hellish conditions that they would go on to experience.

All I can say is that now in 2019, we as a country seem to have learned nothing of that awful time in our history and the events of WW2.

Instead of moving forward we are taking a step back to right wing facism that these brave men and women fought so bravely to wipe out.

Anyone who supports the politics of these current b*stards in power but wears a poppy are sullying their memory. You don’t speak for these brave souls that gave their life for your freedom. You are allowing the politics of hate and division to flourish by giving them a voice.

We aren’t ‘Great’ Britain and we aren’t ‘United’ Kingdom we are a divided country that is becoming more and more split with each passing day.

I’m sorry my dear Grandpa, this isn’t what you fought for is it?
