Come on Morrisons - you must be having a laugh!

Anyone viewing my blips will know I’m a fan of reduced price perishables that have reached or near their sell by/use by dates. This is an environmentally friendly way supermarkets can help prevent good food going to landfill be giving customers the incentive to buy such produce. I have praised, and still do, the efforts of Sainsbury’s, Aldi’s and Lidl’s efforts in offering such inducements with 50% or more being offered as a discount on such goods. Just a pity other supermarkets only pay lip service to such environmentally friendly policies.
Morrison’s is a case in point: today in their reduced price section they were offering discounts less than available if you bought 2 of the fresh items with sell by dates of a week or more. What incentive is this to buy the goods with a use by date of today. Other goods on offer offered discounts of less than 20%. Bet you most of these goods end up in landfill
