Church Baptistery

Joinville Cathedral
Originally built in 1867, the Cathedral of San Francisco Xavier, in Joinville, went through several modifications until 1977, when it was inaugurated with the size and features it currently shows.
Composed of 12 columns that refer to the apostles, two shell-shaped domes that allude to the hands of God and 20 stained glass windows that speak of the teachings of the Catholic church, it is an architectural and religious icon of the city.
The church also has stairs that represent the path to the Deity and its lamps refer us to the 26 biblical prophets. The main ship, with its right foot up, we can trace human smallness in front of the divine. Just below is the crypt, where the bishops and clergy are buried, as well as the citizens who helped build.
