Portrait Night

A tough day in the office for me (Chris) so it was good to get away tonight and then out to camera club this evening.

We ran our regular studio portrait night. Our resident lighting expert created four different lighting setups in the hall where we meet and we had four models to work with (including one volunteer club member. Two setups had studio lights and triggers, the other two used static lights. Club members were put in four groups and rotated around the setups to get a chance with the different models and lighting setups.

I manned one the two studio lighting setups guiding members on setting up their cameras, attaching triggers and other considerations (focus points, adjusting the lights and actually working with the models).

It was a busy night but felt really constructive and hopefully everyone got a few decent photos but most importantly learnt a few things too. In some cases this was simply how to better exploit the controls on their cameras.

Late on I got a chance to get a few photos of my own, the blip being regular model Emma (who has been blipped once or twice before).
