Fires

Safe where I am for now, but over a million hectares of bushland burned now and over 70 fires in NSW alone, more than 1/2 of them out of control.  Other states are 'in the firing line' now. Nervous nights sleeping in snatches in armchairs fully dressed, bag packed  and ready to flee - monitoring updates constantly.  Some relief today with a cooler front but it's going to be a long haul.  
Amazing firefighters and SES volunteers working around the clock.  This is the first time ever a new category has been added to Australia's warning levels - the previous highest was "extreme" - now it is "catastrophic". 
A good notification system is in place online so we all need to be vigilant and evacuate when needed.
