Why...

... are there holes in my cupcakes (yes, the things on the picture are cupcakes) ??

Today I made tried to make cupcakes for the first time. About a third of them had holes in them and the others didn't. Does anyone have an explanation?

I was quite pleased with my buttercream though. I haven't tasted the cupcakes yet, I hope they will be good!
