Before the reading

Tonight was the launch of Star Trails, S' second poetry collection. The  room on the first floor of the Time Out Bookstore was full of friends, family and a few others. I read out a wonderful message from her publisher (he was unable to come because of illness), and then her mentor and supervisor for her Master's thesis spoke glowingly. S had then organised for her fellow members of Isthmus Poets to each read one of the poems from the collection, before she read one herself.

A really great launch, and the bookshop was happy with the number of sales. Afterwards we went to an Italian restaurant on the other side of Mount Eden Road. which supplied simple and tasty food.
