Astrid Kirchherr and Stuart Sutcliffe (and others)

It has always struck me as tragically ironic that perhaps the most talented, and possibly the best looking of the Beatles, died aged 21 before the group became really famous. The Beatles owe Stuart and his German girlfriend, Astrid a lot: Their look and their French cut hair for a start, and their name, though Stuart spelled it "Beatals.". But Stuart was a serious painter, an abstract expressionist who was already singled out for great things when he died of a brain haemorrhage in April, 1962. I've been trying to write a poem about him, but its not quite right. I like this bit though. "He was like a leaf which falls in spring." I'll work on it.
