Enchantment

Last night's talk went well and I kept awake. Around 20 spirited older ladies gathered who were very welcoming and appreciative, and we got tea and biscuits afterwards.

Up early and what a fabulous day - bright and cold. We met our pals Robert and Finola in Budds in Ballydehob (I've been over 5 times this week, Ballydehob that is not Budds!) and fuelled with coffee set off for Lisheen. What a marvellous walk - 8km up and down along the banks of the river Ilen with some amazing views out to Jeremy Irons' castle at Kilcoe. It didn't take us long to attract a dog who was very well behaved and non bouncy and could wee for Ireland in a marking territory sort of way. We also encountered a very handsome bull, safely enclosed, three men not very hard at work tarmacing a tiny road (the chat was taken), three standing stones and Eamonn who was just driving by and stopped  for the information (the chat was taken). My pic though is of a deserted house, painted in wonderful tones of pink and yellow (it actually worked very well) but the garden is slowly taking over. It may not be technically derelict but it was certainly abandoned. We ended up back at Budds where a warming lunch was enjoyed - I just loved the colours and the pumpkins - see extra.
Dropping R & F off at their house we then had to zoom into Skibbereen as Himself had an eye appointment and I had a gentle mooch around. Home now, fire lit, spuds baking in the oven and relax.
