Moody Medlow Crossing

Go on ... if you dare. This is the main western railway from Sydney to the New South Wales interior and here is the Medlow Bath pedestrian crossing ... in the dead of night.

The Indian Pacific Express which traverses the continent rumbles through here, as do one kilometre long coal trains, pulled by four snorting diesel electric locomotives which take the length of the train to stop in an emergency. Then there are the container trains and the intercity expresses to towns in the west plus regular inter-urban services to Sydney and back. It's a busy track.

Don't get caught half way across as I did once. Deafening bells and alarms sound off, safety booms come crashing down and all hell breaks loose, because a train is coming at break neck speed ..... All seems quiet for the moment though. Looks innocent enough. Come on. Whip across ..... Nothing to it. Heh heh heh
