They're WHAT?!?

First - Great Niece Emily is becoming quite famous. In the last month or so she's appeared as a Crocosmia and this packet of "Somethings".

Are Chips  only called "Chips" if made from the humble Spud?
"Sweet potato Sticks.
INDEED?!?

I just had to have a look around.
Below - gleaned from online - seen at "Twitface".

"According to the user’s comprehensive index, which is in line with British terminology, the chunky, thick, fried and floury variety should be called chips.
Meanwhile, the slimmer and crispier options - a staple in fast food restaurants and American diners - are fries.
Finally, he identifies what Brits know as crisps - he also conveniently calls them crisps."

I must admit to never having met the term "Fries"
Thin/skinny chips yes, "Fries", no.

And then there's my DEAF Dictation Chopin Liszt.
Very convenient, if it wasn't so damn hard of hearing:-
"Mackerel" - NO response. To be fair, it may have heard "Mackrel" so I forgave it.
"MACKEREL" - THREE syllables this time - Same response.
Finally
"MACKEREL! YOU DEAF GET!!!!"
Behold the result.  :¬ 0

BUGRIT!!!!!
