A day for fixing things

Fitted the new battery from eBay into the Window Vac (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2639968126304781823) and it now works a treat.  Very impressed with how easily everything came apart and went back together.  But the battery is soldered to the PCB making it impossible to remove & replace neatly.  Since this is the component most likely to fail, and they don't offer a repair service, 0 out of 10 to Karcher for sustainability.
This success prompted me to put a solid state drive into the laptop in place of the original HDD.  An easy enough job though there is the anxious pause after you switch on.  OS and all files now restored and a significant increase in performance noticed already.
