Sociable climber?

Part of the day spent clearing frost hit summer bedding and removing some tender perennials in to the greenhouse for winter protection. This required sorting out the greenhouse and in so doing I had to cut down a "trailing" geranium which had somehow transformed into a climber without any help or encouragement from me.This shoot was fully 5 feet long and was cut off 1 foot above ground level. Silly enough for the challenge, I wonder??
