It was a dreary, dripping wet, start...

... to Wetherby Races today. I was dragged along and, to fill my time, took quite a few shots - but not many of the actual racing (because the only suitable vantage point was a quagmire).

The blip shot shows horse No.6  Oscar Robertson which won the first race, ridden by Jonathan Burke.

I've included several extras from the crowd. The race meeting invited people to dress in 1920s Peaky Blinders style. Flat caps proved the most popular choice for the men, whilst the ladies showed more imagination. 

Like yesterday, I could have filled the blip screen with people eating and drinking (which was a far more popular activity than anything racing-related) - but I decided to avoid that sort of theme today.
