The dropped stitch

Sunday walk

A relaxing Sunday afternoon stroll turned into a clamber over slippery rocks in search of an illusive footpath.

Careful placing and testing of each step was required. In the end, walking on the seaweed at the top of the beach turned out to a safer bet; at least a fall is fairly cushioned.

Eventually we found a place where it was possible to climb the grassy bank and escape the beach. It was a relief to walk back along the field edge.

The sea was calm, and the day felt surprisingly mild.

Highlight, as we returned at dusk, was catching sight of 2 owls in the trees.
