Frigate 1765-1850(?)

The Wikipedia entry for 'frigate' tells us that these eighteenth century vessels 'were built for speed and handiness' and 'used for patrolling and escort'.

It also says that iron-clad frigates were introduced in the late 1850s - so Lorna needn't have added the question mark in the legend for this section of her boat frieze.
